27.79 MILES AND A GOOD RIDE

Started out today with a ride with hubby.  Nice and cool this evening so I'm enjoying every last bit of cool weather were having.

I actually just did 24.77 miles, even though the speedometer says 27.79 miles.   I completely for got to reset the speedometer.
But miles are miles and I'm counting them, even if my average speed that day was 6 mph.  :)

My new UV SP50 arm sleeves came.  The motif is a dragon fly.  The body is going down my arm and the wing wrap around.
These are going to come in handy for tomorrows ride around the Sutter Buttes with Jenni.
Beautiful Holly Hocks.  I've been looking for that black Holly Hock but so far nothings.  That one was so cool.
A Carpenter bee enjoying a flower.  This one was a little more slow, so I could actually get it on camera.   There were more bees and bumble bees of varying sizes all go way to fast.

If you look at my average speed it look like I did hill climbing.
Yesterday it took us 45 minutes to go three miles.  And today it took me 2 hour and 30 minutes to go 27.79 miles.

PUMPED UP 5 YEAR OLD & A DIET

First of all if you think sugar is the only thing that make kids go crazy. Your so so wrong!    Apparently riding 3 miles with a 5 year old who had no sugar dose the same exact thing.  He was having a  endorphin high was like nothing I've ever seen.  We got home and was he tired, no. Was he pumped up yes!  He was trying to break dance, so I show him a video of people break dancing and he was mesmerized.  His mom told me he didn't stop until about 9:00 at night. LMAO

Well my hubby has become a culinary chef.   I use to cook for him all the time, now he's cooking for me and I'm loving it.  He a amazing cook and has his own unique style.    And he's a really stricken, except for the time he got a Mediterranean BBQ Chicken & Bacon Pizza.  He has absolutely no recollection of that.

Ok here is what is happening were both having headaches and because were eating less sugar.  I have not had a Mocha in two days.  Instead I've been drinking Americano's.  I'm trying to break my habit of drinking to many mochas in a day.  It's like a roller coaster.  I have been really good before, then I fall hard.  So I'm trying again.

So I've taken photo of Chris and I the standard mug shot, not smiling front and side.  Let see what happens.

MY 4 TIPS FOR SPRINTS.

This might not be everyone cup of tea, or you might not like it because it's not in a Cycling magazine.  This is just my method.

What do I mean by short?  1 mile short or two if your intrepid.

1.Sprint right off the bat.  I don't and never have warmed up before I take off for a ride.

2.  This is for no matter how far you go. Ride normally, then sprint and rest then sprint hard.
On my Wild flower ride I sprinted several times one in the middle then one toward the end when I was about at 92 miles I sprinted.  So rest sprint, rest sprint.  And when I mean sprint I mean out of breath panting hard.  Rest until your heart rate is down.

3.  Let say your top speed is 25 miles per hour you maintain it for 1 minute, you drop to 23, don't stop, you drop to 21 keep going, you drop to 18 push push push.  Just because you miles drops don't let that deter you from giving up. Push push push.

4.  Now if you want more pain.  Sprint up hill fast and as hard and far a you can go, repeat for maximum suffering.

32.15 MILES & GREAT DAY FOR A RIDE.

Great day for a ride today.  Started out with doing a 16 mile ride with hubby.  I'm doing Hubbys Mediterranean Diet.  So I really have to think about what I'm eating, so I don't lose energy on the ride.

Over the summer I'm going to be incognito with my group rides. :(    Not that I want to, but my work is more important.  Then I'll jump back in some time in August.   My WOW group is doing a few good long rides and Jenni is doing some too, so I'll still get my fix.   I'll be able to do my shorter rides of 32 mile thought the week and at the week end do the lot longer rides.   I ask for the 12th off because I've missed too many cool rides, I don't want to miss that one.
Hubby leading the way.  Trying to enjoy every bit of cloudy good weather before it become super hot.

Took tired hubby home and did 4 hill at Doe Mill rd.

CRIT WRANGLING PEOPLE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I just had to share this with you.

OMFG!  I just got dinged from face book telling me that the previous post 21.04 MILES A FEW SPRINTS & CRIT WRANGLING.   The post is under review because apparently there computer can not tell what a abbrivation to Criterium is. Which is Crit.   NOT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! CLIT!
Yes this is underground porn site, nothing to do with riding bikes either.  If that the case I should have hell of good numbers on this sight.

21.04 MILES A FEW SPRINTS & CRIT WRANGLING!

Just did a little ride today and added a few good sprint in.   It's getting hot hot hot.  I ordered some UV protection arm sleeves and plan to use them.   Being cooked is not fun.
This is what the sun is doing to my bib.   I do wear sun lotion, but after a while it just sweats off.
What are these.  Its so amazing how one minute nothing is there and the next there new life.
Beautiful.  Hmm is this a soap plant.?
Boy the bees really like this.
Bee are way easier to take pictures of.  A bumble bee was flying around like so fast I was running around like a idiot trying my best to get a close photo.  Bumble bee fly at hyper speed so every shot was blurry with no bumble bee.
These are the tiny seeds that stick to your pants and shoes when you walk in the grass.

Well here is what happened on the way home.  LOL
A guy with no shirt on a road bike crosses the street a few feet in front of me.  I'm doing 17 mph and pass him, not to passes him to show off, he's just going slower.  Well um he decides he needs to pass me.  So yeah my competitive side flares up and I chase him 26 mph chase,  he looks back at me freaks out that I'm catching him and instead of letting me pass, he cut off down a side road so I can't.   LMAO

I addes a few criterium photos below.

 Safety is paramount.
 Fast pace and fun.

HOW TO BE YOUR OWN PERSONAL BAD ASS!

Rules to obtain your own personalized Bad Assdom in cycling.

1. Focus on what you can do and not what Chris Froome is doing and not what the guy around the corner is doing. The more you put your focus on someone else success the more you distract your self from your own.

2. Make you self small goals and stick to them.   If you are going to ride 5, 15 or 20 miles.  Do it.

3. Own the fact that you are in control of your brain.  Because it's going to work on you every day and come up with a million excuses to stop you. Focus and build up a mind set, instead of concentrating on the negative concentrate on the positive.  Make positive Signs if you must!  Do mental psyche up, before each ride.

4. You are the tree, do not be your own axe!  Mistakes and failure are part of learning, if you find your self in a situation were you didn't think you should have done something in a certain way, don't hold onto it.   This is why I suggest keeping a journal.  Write about each ride, the good and the bad, get it out on paper, instead of holding it in.  You will learn a lot.

5.  The haters are going to hate and your going to show them up!  Somebody sneers, says something, take it and use it as fuel.  Make there hate your power!  Making a hater eat there own hate is priceless.  Learn how to enjoy pissing your bullies off, when they see you doing what you do.  Believe me they hate being wrong.

6. Find something you can wear on a ride like clothing, key chain, bracelet, that is a visual reminder of how powerful you are.  When your feeling you can't go one, look down for that reminder.  This is if you ride by your self.

7. Listen to your body and know your limitation so you don't hurt your self.  This is a hard one and it's different for everyone.   I've ridden under the weather before and about 10 miles in I feel better, and some times 10 miles in I feel blah so I've turn back.  This is why journaling is important.

8. Have a blast, enjoy the ride, explore and be safe.  :)
