It was so cold this morning. It was 49 and real feel was 47. Now get on a bike and start moving it felt like 45. Brrrrrr Went out and bought hubby some nice and warm gloves to keep his fingers nice and toasty warm. And we bundled up really good, but I still wore my leggings, I don't really feel the chill in my legs, it my torso that gets really cold. Their were people riding with full on facial mask and all the fixings.
When we got up to Horse Shoe Lake all the canadian geese, ducks and other birds were standing on the bank. We could hear this loud buzzing sound go by and back around. Some guy had a remote controlled boat whizzing around the lake. Those poor bird were probably like what the heck's gotten into that weird looking bird. Boy it sure had their attention.
Did 4 reps up the hill today.
One lady who was walking with her family down the hill was like "You go, good for you". And when I past her going down hill to do another rep she didn't look as happy. LOL Sure enough I past her again and she just glared at me like wait what? Your too heavy to be doing that again. I notice that a lot, but who cares, I'm not going to stop riding.
So found out what wrong with the speedometer on the pain cave, it easy it, just needs to be tighten up. Easy fix. Not so easy fix on the Airen. The two magnets might be too far away and not designed for that bike. So I'm going to find some trouble shooting videos and see if I can fix it my self.
And tomorrow were planning to do a long ride, so were having a spaghetti tonight to fuel our ride for tomorrow. It's says it's suppose to be warmer. When I feel it, I'll believe it.
Welcome to my Cycling Journal. These are my musing about our rides and interesting happenings along the way. And for me to keep track of our progress.

12.32. HARD RIDE Airen
Great ride today. Great hard ride on my Airen. Been feeling amazing so I stepped up the speed and flew through the park. Yeah some area's I had to slow down, to be safe, but the majority of the ride was fast and I really got my heart pumping and out of breath fast. Half of the ride is a upgrade and the other half is a down grade. Can't wait to get my speedometer figured out, but at least I know what I need to do. I've got to align the cadence and the back wheel speedometer. So back to the bike shop. They guy who put it one, never seen this one before, so he put in on and that it.
Boy I feel alive, I'm standing taller and my back is feeling the love, being off the bike too long make me feel awful. Some of the perks that I notice to cycling regularly are.
1. I stand up taller and my posture is better.
2. My system work better and feels better as in digestion.
3. With me it make me more self aware of what I'm eating so I tend to eat proportional amounts.
4. The more I ride the better the food taste. mmmm
5. The obvious, the better I feel all around.
I guess it's different for everyone.
What did I see today? I saw a 7 year old walking a huge black pit bull, with no parent in sight. That was kind of scary. If that dog took off, be would be dragged and left behind. I saw a women one time do a face plant into the ground, because her dog was chasing a squirrel. The upper park was packed, so many people out to day it was crowded. Lucky for me on my ride to 1 mile the people were more dispersed.
I've been riding 4 day in a row, so tomorrow is break day. Time to give my body a rest, so I can do more riding. :)

26.44 miles Pain Cave /Airen
Ahhhh back in the saddle. Feeling awesome with hubby. I really hate the feeling of not riding, it really sucks. The sun came out and we were really feeling good. We started out with a 14.2 mile ride, I was on the Pain Cave. We both did 4 times up the hill too. That felt great.
I recently got a Omax 40x-2000x Microscope for my hubby, so now when we go on our bike ride he carries some collection vials with him and when we stop we look around and take samples. So when we get back to the apartment we get to see things up close and personal. Really cool.
Half way through the first ride I was ready starting to think about riding the other bike. LOL So when we got home I took a little break and hopped on the Airen for a second round. Hubby stayed home and used his microscope.
I was kind of bummed just a little, I had my new speedometer hooked up and it's not working, so I'm going to have to watch a tutorial and try to figure it out. And top of that my other speedometer stopped working and it's not old either.
I'm getting better on figuring out how to shift gears. Their is no visual, so it's all base on remembering how many clicks this way and that way.
Did I mention I love my bike. Looking forward to tomorrow.

12.32 miles
It was completely over cast today and it did rain on and off so I really lucked out that on my ride it did not rain. Did I mention it was cold. Brrrrrr.
Hooked up my new speedometer today with help from the bike shop. But it still has a bug, it would not work on the way home, so got to figure that out. My speedometer has every thing and it make milk shakes too. Well no milk shakes ha. It has the ability to track 2 bikes, but I'm not going to set that up. It counts miles, calories, cadence sensor, and about 12 other functions. It a little bit harder to hit the buttons as I'm riding, but I'll get use to it.
I need to get back into hill climbing, my body was like climb. And I also need to switch up the bikes. I road my road bike to day so I could have help with the speedometer. And when I got it home Yes I wash it with a fine tooth, tooth brush. This bike is not going to get abused like the first bike did.
And I got chased by a dog for a short while. He came out of no were. And lucky for me he didn't find me that interesting and ran after a car. Waiting to see what the weather is like tomorrow.

12.32 miles (And the weather man get's payed for what?)
The dark picture is yesterday and the bright picture is today. Find the round table for reference.
I do believe it's been two week with out riding. :( :( And yeah it sucked.
Did not use my road bike, it's just too muddy, and way to many stick and what not littering the path. And after two weeks of not riding, yeah we did not go fast. Oh well.
Nope not riding under the bridged.
This is usually a dry creek bed. This is the first time I've seen it full of water.
And the spill way is open. WOW!

FLOODING
Yup lot's of flooding and more cold rain to come. A few months back it was flooded, but this time it's higher and their is more trees down throughout the park. The forecast does not look good. We have another week of rain coming, then a short break, then more rain. Bleh.
Ha look at this guy. It's so cold and just watching him made us even colder.
Were the water level was on the path. If it was this high here, the rest of the road or areas of the road must have been under water.
Tree's are down ever were.
This was about a month or two back. And well the water went higher this time.
Same here.

:( :(
Your probably thinking now what.
Well I'm still alive. I am not going to elaborate, but I'll say one word. Dentist. And the weather isn't any better. It's been 40 to 38 degrees with a very chilly wind and rain. Sarcastic YA!
My last ride was 16 miles and I totally forgot to put it in. I seen to be on a up and down scale with riding. Get a good couple of months in then hit rock bottom. Well if that how it is, so be it. Feeling really depressed and feeling even worse when I go home and see the bike just sitting there. Oh well. Waiting for this all to blow over and get back out their.
