83.27 MILES & 1000.23 MILES COMPLETE!

Got up early to add on some extra miles to the WOW ride.   My leg was stinging in areas all the way.   But I did it.  My hubby said I'm nuts.  Maybe I am.

A lot of people ask me why I ride 1000 miles

My answer. Because I can.
The only way to know what your truly capable of is to push your self to the limits.

Time to brag.  I did 1000 miles in 20 days if you don't count the break days.    20 days of riding and 11 days of rest.

 Early morning duckies.
 Waiting for the group.
 Lovely little spider web.
I'm actually in the photo. LOL

 Regrouping for coffee.

If you have not met the Sports LTD Cat, I suggest that you pop in and say hi, if you can find her.   It's kind of like Where's Waldo with a Cat!
LMAO Car's done, It's been in the shop for two weeks.  Go in to pick it up and the guy takes me to the back has me sit down then said "A employ back into it".    What else could I do but laugh.   Oh boy!  They gave us a rental car finally.   And there fixing it.   More waiting.   Were kind of liking the rental car, maybe they can just keep the our car. LOL

Back at it.

I never know who I'm going to run into.   Long time ago in a galaxiy far away Chris and I use to work at Wendy's with this guy.  We all didn't cycle back then.  Now look at us.  He's was  checking out some mountain bike.

31.05 MILES & NOT GIVING UP!

Well I'm going to try to do it.   All I can say with every bump ouch and I was not stellar going up hill and today I got my first feel of a sore area in the other leg, were I have a 4 inch black and blue bruise.   My average speed it looks like I've been climbing all day.

I'm at 916.93 miles.  I have 83.07 miles left,  If I split it in half tomorrow I can get it done.   Hubby things I'm crazy considering my leg is hurting still.   But not as bad as it was yesterday.

THE EPIC 2 MPH FALL

Well shit.  Two day off the bike because I lost my footing trying to push my self forward on the bike at 2 mph.   I don't fall off the bike while actually riding fast.  I fall off while going slow.
After this photo was taken my leg began to swell up pretty good and my hubby was like uh shit that dose one look good, so my Uber driver Jenni <3 pick me up and ran all the red lights with sirens flaring.  She told me later that the swarm of police chasing her and the all the ticket and fines that build up were worth it.    No that's not what happen, but that would be a great story.

The photo make it look like a minor scrape, but this is not the case, the Dr said the bone is not broken.  But I have deep muscle damage, hence the shooting pain when I stand on it.  They call me hobbles.
It feels fine when I lay down and keep it still, as soon as I get up and move oh shit.  That was this morning.

I took my crutches with me and well I'm doing better, it still is very painful, I am walking on it a little more.  *DR said the sooner you put pressure on it, it will help with the healing.

I'm totally in cycling mode still, I want to get on the bike and go, then I get up and I'm like....oh shit um no not happening.   So 885.88 miles it is.  Dang, so close.  But I'm ok with it.  Heal, then try again.

13.34 MILES & A PEACHY FALL

Today is my break day and I'm still on the bike.  Well still have to get around, and my car is still at the shop.   Decided to go peach picking today.
This area was cleared out to make room for people to live from the Camp fire.
I notice a lot of trailers do not have generators.  :(   It's 106 today so that must really suck.
 Peaches!!!  Smell so good.

Fresh Peach smoothie on a hot day is amazing.  No it's not Dutch Brothers.  I recycle the cups.
Well crap.  Was headed out to the main bike path, the bike tipped, I put my foot down and well there was nothing to put it down on.  FLOP!    Grabbed onto a small tree to break my fall.
Ouch.

I ran back into the house to get a ice pack to put on it.  And from my husband perspective I just disappeared.   Because we leave and meet up on the street to go where ever were going.    He thought I sped off ahead of him, however I would never do that.  So he road to our destination.    I sat with the ice pack on for a while then jumped back on the bike and found him riding back to see what happened.
Star Bucks was nice enough to give me a hand made ice pack and a wrap.  It really helped.

18.05 MILES & A TIRED SECOND HALF OF THE RIDE

I pushed my self to the max these last two days.   Doing a huge climb then right into the Friday group ride this last little tid bit.
Yes my legs are starting to feel sore and I just feel really tired.
Yes I did feel really good this morning, but as the day wore on I was not getting that energized feeling I usually get.
But I'm happy I at least got to 51.07 miles today.
So yaaaa!

Time to rest.

UP DATE! ON ELEVATION! OPPS

My bad, well I typed in what was the elevation to the first parking lot, and it's stated 8500 feet.  The parking lot's is not at 8500 feet.  opps.   But I'm a bit perplexed because I did pass a sign that said 7000 feet ?????.   The Ride elevation is 4600' feet.
