BLARRRG! Miles ZERO

I think today is the day were my legs are not even stirring, their there, but their dead.   It been overcast and very windy today and theirs a lot of dust in the air.  I've been feeling dizzy and light headed, not great to have on a bike.  Even hubby is feeling under the weather.  Oh well.  Every day can't be perfect. Another day another ride.  Can't wait.

100 miles in 1 hour

No not really LOL just want to post it.

But I do now a cycliest named Michael Huchinson went 100 miles in  3 hours and 23 minutes.  Eeegad.     I would be like if you find me on the side of the rode prop me up on my bike.  That's crazy.

Ahhh now I'm hurting on the inside and out.  OMFreekingG!   Their a 1000 and up category.   I choose life.    Backing away slowly and running out the back door.      :)

33.98 miles / 9 miles 9/27/2016

Looks like this is the new set up, it will not let me move the pictures to the side of copy and paste anything.  Dropped my computer pretty hard yesterday, surprised it's still working.
Well it was another one of those days today, got up and just was not feeling the love, but my legs were like "Hey their! Ya You get on your bike!  GET ON YOUR BIKE!   So I got on my bike. Told my self I was going to take it easy, told my self that I was going to go slow.  Well that didn't happen I ended up doing 6 reps up the hill and flying like a bat with my butt on fire.  And I kept going and going.  33.98 miles of going.    Around 24 miles Hubby decided to join me out on the bike path, could not refuse ridding with hubby.  He only did 9 miles and as soon as we were done, he stuck his head right back in the books.

18.00 miles 9/26/2016

Started out today not wanting to do a ride, but I'm glad I did, made me feel real good.
I rode by my self today. :(    But there's always another day to ride with hubby.  Did four reps up the hill then headed off then headed off to 1 mile.    Had a lady yell out  "Love your sweater" ??  LOL  Yeah I wearing a sweater while riding.  Omg that would be so hot.   Then that's not all on the way home from 16 miles into the ride I was in closer to town and I had this van pass in front of me and all the passengers were waving at me. OK?  I waved back and shrugged it off because I thought they were waving at someone else.  Nope they waving at me.  :)   About another mile and a half I caught up with them and they were waving at me. LOL
No tooth pain today so I'm going with the flow, today was a good day to ride.

9/25/2016 13.12 miles

Their will be pain, their will be craving coffee and did I mention craving coffee.  :)    So far so good today did a 13.12 mile ride and my cracked tooth is not bothering me, so today was a good day riding with hubby.
Now let's see 1,089.87 - 13.12 = 1,076.75 miles to go.  :)
I can't wait to see were these new trails go to.

Just for a reference 1,089.87 mile is almost like cycling from Los Angles California to Longview Washington.   That 1,090.00 miles.

1,089.87 MILES

I added up all our rides sense I started this journal and we gone 1,089.87 miles.  WOW!   I also estimated all the little riding we did and add it. 6 miles here, 5 miles their and what not.   Cool Beans.  :)

9/23/2016 ME: 0. LEGS: 2 21.52 miles total

I totally thought my hubby was not going to ride to day.  And we got home and he was like let's do a ride.  And I was like waaaa I want to go with you.   So considering, I got to wrack up the cycling.     Did 21.52 miles and hubby did about 9 miles.

Boy did we go out at the wrong time.  Came around the corner were their a school and the kids were getting out.  We got stuck in a crowd of about 20 teeny boppers on bike. Trapped.   Their were so many of them it was really difficult to escape.  In order to escape we had to get into the other lane of traffic and speed up really fast. Going up to 20 mph we cleared the pack easily.   One of the show off who though he was going really fast, eye's got really big when we past him and two of the girls at the front of the pack were like Whoa!.    Riding around kids and teens freak me out, because their all over the place and they don't pay attention, basically their unpredictable.   And when your riding in the part they don't get out of the way they gravitate toward you?

The second ride with hubby was fun, and I still felt great.   Actually when we got home, I could have kept going.   I think the reality of whats coming up with my mouth is making me want to keep on going.

9/23/2016 ME: 0, LEGS 1. 12.34 miles

Yes I'm wigging out.  The whole time I was typing the other blog I had bike on the brain.  Yes the desire to ride is that strong.  I sound like Yoda.  "Mmm Strong is the desire to ride is with this one."  Yes I took a chance and yes I feel great.  No pain today and my legs are purring like kittens.    And no Vultures to stalk me today.     The whole ride I felt pumped so I'm really happy and feel real good.    Why oh why is going fast so fun.   Yeah I'm bad their a guy I've been racing every time we meet up, but not like ready set go.   I was stopped to grab some water and he passed me, I did not follow right away, my intention is not to race him.   So I take off and it took me a good while to catch up with him and it wasn't till we got to a up grade that he dramatically slowed down, and I was able to pass him.   As soon as I did he stated to peddle harder, but he could not pass me.   Yeah I'm a stinker.   And like I said before I get dropped to, but I can handle it and know when I've lost.  But some of these guys is so funny they can not accept me passing them.  And I have to admit it's fun chasing them.
But doing it to another woman that all daggers!   Going up hill is my specialty, I can really fly on a up hill grade, and that where a lot of them lose their speed, even if it's 2 miles less, that all I need.
I chased a guy going from 1 mile to Mansanita and we were flying 17 to18 miles  As we were flying he passed another guy on a bike who decided he needed to keep up with him, he didn't even notice me chasing him.   When we got to the slight grade on the road that is when they both started to have problems, not me, but what made it choice was the dumb founded look on the guys face. That make it worth the chase.  My size fools a lot of people.   The first guy will not look at me.  LOL I've seen him more than once in the park and the first time I dropped him I could hear him heaving and panting behind me.    When I ride hard at 21 to 23 miles, which I can only maintain for seconds that is when I heaving and panting.

9/22/2016 12.34 miles

Well water and ho hum.   I can't win.  Trying not to get to depressed.  My back lower tooth on my left side cracked horizontally right about the gum line. And it was not due to eating any thing....sigh.   Soft and weak teeth run in the family on my mom's side, along with lot's of spelling error's, so it is what it is.  I'm on antibiotics and pain meds.  Yesterday I was like I could not stand not riding and I did a ride anyway.   But it did hurt a little after the ride so.  :(      So October is going to be sad for riding.  I really hope this is over soon.  And to make things worst I found two new exciting bike routes to take, oh the irony.
What was kind of funny on the ride this time was their was absurd amount of vultures dispersed along the whole trial.   No quail, no squirrels, just vultures.  Is someone trying to tell me something? hmmmm   I swear there must have been at least 35 to 40.    And their was one perched on a stump super close to the path, it would have make a excellent picture and yes I had my camera, but as the old story goes as soon as you stop it flies, so I didn't even bother.   So I can hope for is my legs don't explode while waiting for this tooth storm to path.

9/19/2016 14.56 miles

Well what ever was going on yesterday it's over. Today I felt great even did 5 reps up the hill.  I think my favorite part of going up hill is the look on people faces.  That's the best motivation, when they think you can't do it.  And then I do it 5 times.  Bwhaaaaa!      It's really amazes me how intuned with you body you get when you ride on a regular basis.  Ride enough and your legs shut up, not even a peep. Don't right enough their in your face screaming at you.  And if you don't ride your whole day is ruined.  And you become hyper aware of what goes in your mouth.  Coffee Yes.  But if I eat a pizza,  I can
or any fried food which is very rare for us, it turn me into mush and I'll feel like crap.

Not an exciting day yesterday.  In fact I didn't want to do a bike ride.  Hubby did so I grumpily followed.    Some days are better than others, today was not one of those days.

IT'S CLOSE TO THE SEASON.

No I have not lost my mind. You are seeing window paintings.   For you that don't know this I am a professional window painter. And towards the end of October everyone is going to start calling me at once, that is a good thing.   But it really cuts into cycling time.  So much in fact I probably not going to be doing any cycling, because I'll be driving all over the place to paint windows.  All I'll be doing is staring at window at arm length with a paint brush.    Hopefully I'll be able to get a few rides in here and their.   Each season is different.  Last season I felt like super ninja window painter.  When the season was over I was so wired I still wanted to paint something anything.   So if I disappear this is what I'm doing.

9/13/2016 7.9 miles

Rode with hubby today  7.9 miles in 33 minutes.  Kind of windy but other wise the weather was great.    Had one women on the path look back at us and instead of getting out of the way, she had a death with and step right in front of us.    Shacking my head.  So we had to come to a full stop.   Hubby was speed demon today, he did not ride yesterday so I had to peddle hard to keep up with him.

11/12/2016 15.36 miles

Great ride today.  Miss my hubby, but he just has to much home work. :(
Felt really good today.   In fact so good I went up the hill 5x.   No dogs,  only a few people on foot and the road was blocked off from cars so it was really great.   I figured out that going up the hill 5x is about almost 2 miles.   Cool beans.
Well I figured out the 25 miles hour mystery.  It must have happen was when I was going down hill peddling on the way out of the valley.  But it did it just for a second.  But I didn't peddle as hard today so my max speed was more normal as you'll see below.

9/11/2016 11.96 miles

Had a little bout of virtego.  So this week I took it really easy until it past. It's gone so back on the bike. When we went to get the bike, mine had a flat, so while hubby fixed it I did some watering.    And I got to ride with my hubby.  Grumpy hubby LOL  I wanted to take his picture and he was like less with the snappy and more with the peddle.

Ok why I didn't take a picture, I have no idea, but I decided to do some hill climbing to day.  The gate was closed so no cars, sweet!   Make it around the bend going down hill and it's a dog-plosion.   There must of been at least 15 to 16 dogs off the lease and around 25 people blocking the middle of the road.  I was like you got to be kidding.   They have the right to be their too, but geeze when  you see some one on a bike come down the hill really slow may be like move to the side.  Nope not one person moved for me. They all saw me and just had that blank expression.  I had to come to a stop and walked my way thought the maze of people and dogs.  And even when you go slow dogs will chase your bike, I was lucky only one dog had the hankering for bike.  Got to the bottom and look back and was like really.   Sigh, luckily the biggest knot of dogs and people disperse and had access to a clear ride up to the top.  I did it a second time and was like ok two time is enough lets go.

Huh?   25.2 miles an hour for max speed.  Were was I. ?  I know the whole route it must have been  just for a few seconds when I was not paying attention.  But I assure you not for a full minute.      Oh wait yeah I did 11 miles at 25 miles the whole way.  LOL Not.

9/3/2016 35.11 miles

Really great ride today and the weather was really nice.   And the best part got to ride with hubby.  :)     We paced our selves this time and tried to maintain a steady pace.

35.11 miles

Maximum Speed 21.8
 Glowing Average 12.1

2 hour and 52 minutes.
In Durham we stopped off at the local store and Chris went in to get some gatorade and he came back out with a new flavor of Cliff bar.   Chocolate Peanut Butter filled Nut Butter.    So we stopped off at our favorite place to take a break and tried the new bars.   Too our surprise they has less calories, so that was already a plus with us.   In order to try or find new cliff bar flavors, one must ride exceeding 30 to 40 miles. lol   But I can not wait to try the rest of the flavors.
Chocolate and Hazelnut butter, Coconut Almond butter & Peanut Butter.
On the way out to the air port a man deck out in his cycling gear came up beside me so close I could have reach over and picked his nose. It startled me and I jumped.   Too close buddy, way too close.

On our rides we encounter lot's and lot's of dogs.  Some leashed some not, some behind fences some in window.  The funniest thing is when their behind fences and all you hear is the barking then wham!  The dog or dog's momentarily stop barking to recover from hitting what ever type of fence they live behind and then resume barking like they never hit it.     This is why I am a cat person, cat have discernment, dog don't.

We ride thought the Almond fields to Durham and it's really cool to see all the trees loaded with almonds or all the almonds on the ground ready for harvest.    If only I could have a vacuum on my back. Then as I ride I could suck them up and no one would every no.   Ok well no, but it would be nice.  ha

9/2/2016 13.12 miles

YA I have a new Speedometer.  But unlike the other one this one is really hard to take a picture of. I had to take a lot of pictures just to try to get a clear shot.   A lot better ride today.

13.12 miles

Maximum Speed  23.4   No I did not keep it very long, just only a few seconds.
Here is my average speed.  :D  Very proud of my self and my hubby, he didn't ride with me today, but I know he can keep up with me.
14.1 is my average speed. To obtain this I have to keep my speed between 17 miles and hour to 20 miles and hour.   Pant pant pant.    I'm still shaking my head that I powered though all my bike ride with a broken axle.
 54 minutes
And here is the cream of the crop.   This was my average speed for exactly 2.7 miles.  This is keeping my speed between 19 and 20 miles and hour.

Ok I had the sqeee moment on the end of my bike ride and I was going a lot slower.  Pa pa quail came out of the bushes with newly hatch baby quail.  Their so tiny. Like mini fluffy m&m's with legs.

MINI BONK! 11.57 miles/ 9 miles

Chris did 9 miles I did 11 miles.

I had a mini bonk, not a full blown bonk.  And what was horrible I was feeling so pumped on the first half of the ride, like I could take on the world.   Today was one of those days.  First of all we had an unexpected emergency lunch that was not planned for.  "Heck let have a sandwich " I said what could go wrong?   Note: Chris and I do eat bread every once and a while, but not as a staple.  So we ate our sandwich.   We also had a bit more food, before the ride.   Like I said before hubby swimming in home work so he decided to take off ahead of me because I was installing my new speedometer.  :)   He accidently take off with everything water and cliff bars.   I completely spacing, because my mind is on making my speedometer work with a friend who is helping me.  I take off all happy and ready to take on the world.  My speedometer is working great and I'm flying between 18 and 20 mph.  I get all the way to Horse Shoe Lake and I can feel it coming on and then the first thing my mind goes to Ahhh crap that stupid sandwich we had and then my second though Uhhggg Chris has the Cliff bars.   Noooooo!   So I put my tail between my leg and peddle home like I've just road 40 miles, my energy was going and going fast.     Usually I good for a hour before I need more energy, nope not this time.   And no I didn't Bonk as bad as the guy in the picture, thus mini bonk.    As soon as I got home, we both become ravenous salad beast.  Nom nom nom.   A salad with veggies and fruit does 10x more than a sandwich with all the fixings.

On my way up their was a guy with roller blades of all things jumping up on the handrails going down some stairs.  WTF!   No helmet no shin guards nothing.   Crazy!

Another day another ride.  Tomorrow will be better.
