SPACE CYCLING CAMP

Getting bored cycling all over earth?   Have you  cycled the Alp's?  Is the Tour De France making you yawn?  Have you been on every continent?   Are you ready to take cycling to the next level?   Are you ready for a metal endurance that will push your wit's past the point of absolute insanity?   Well if you are Space Cycling is for you.  Not only will you learn how to escape Earth gravity, you will also learn how to control your rocket bike and go thought a 6 month rigorous training course that will make your friend shit bricks.  Not only will your friends and family  think you are a GOD!  Your awesomeness will be awesome.  In fact when you look in the dictionary under awesome, there will be a picture of your face.   You will be among an elite group of people, like Neil Armstrong, Buzz Aldrin.   Are you ready?  Do you have what it takes?   The price is not listed, because if you have to ask you can not afford it.

Here is a sample of what you will be learning in each stage of your training.
In the first step in reaching your goal you will be strapped to this bike and ride it until you can maintain a max speed of 30 to 45 mph. You will ride this for 65 miles a day. Why?  This will condition your legs for the exiting of the earth gravity as you leave orbit and enter space.   Escape velocity is about 11.2 km/s, which is approximately 33 times the speed of sound (Mach 33) and several times the muzzle velocity of a rifle bullet (up to 1.7 km/s). However, at 9,000 km altitude in "space", it is slightly less than 7.1 km/s.   So over a 6 month period your going to need to build up your speed to around 65 to 75.  Now don't worry the rocket bike is designed to help you so if you average around 75 miles and hour on your own it will boost your speed to around 275.   But you are powering the bike, so don't stop peddling.

The ramp you will be exiting off the earth will be over 1,000 yard and you will not be returning to earth and if you are well? Just make sure you don't.  The above picture shows a diagram of the optimal exiting point were you will need to hit your rocket boosters.   Mind you anything can go wrong so don't hit them too late or too early.  We are not being paid enough to dig you out of the ground.

What will you eat on the incredible journey?  Yup that's right you will be on the Beer & Sausage Diet.    You will be consuming 2,000 calories every hour and in a day 12,000.   So feed your face.
Oh and let's not forget the donuts.  Lot's and lot's of donuts.

And too add a little variety to your new diet you can stick the sausage through the holes in the donuts and create a new dining experience.

Now I know what your thinking and yes were going to strap you into this contraption and yes you will be pleaing for mercy... your not going to get it.  You signed up, you paid, your going in.  Due to the graphic nature of this training device.  I can not go into detail.
No bikes were harmed, however.....

We really have no idea what this is?  But it will be in part of your training  So get ready!

14 miles

Did a whopping 14 miles today.  Well 14 mile is better than no miles.   And yes I broke a spoke.  Uhhhggggg.  :(
Hill climbing is a love hate relationship.  I love climbing, I hate breaking my spokes.   :(     Got the hubby lecture of stop doing the hill climbing again.  :/    He was right then and he's right now.     Sigh.......  oh well.

The weather was so nice today, humid, but nice.     It's amazing how attuned to by bike I have become.   I can hear small rocks bounce off the spokes, and when I ride along or in between a small bridge I can also hear what going on.   I have absurdly sensitive hearing.    But that a good thing, I knew right away, what had happened, so that keeps me from damaging the bike anymore.     So far I've been lucky I have not broke a spoke during the Fun 5O ride.   But I broke on the way one to it.

13 miles 24 miles 5/27/2017

Well hubby kicked my ass yesterday with bike riding.  He did 24 miles, 12 miles in the morning and 12 miles in the evening.   So yeah I suck.    All I got in was 13 miles and 3 reps on the hill.   As for today I've been having  a headache. :(     So no bike riding

1 YEAR OF JOURNALING & FEELING AWESOME.

From 5/18/2016 of my first journal entry, I have rode 3,268.12 miles   :)     And burned a whopping
179,000 calories.      From west coast to east coast it's 2,800 miles, so subtracting 3,268.12 miles from 2,800 I rode  468.12 miles over.  :)     I can't wait to see what the next year brings.   Feeling Awesome.

13 miles May 25

Easy yesterday with hubby and I did just one hard up hill sprint.    Managed to maintain 10mph up the short hill,  now that got me out of breath.   Going to start hill training again I really miss it and it really helps improve my speed and endurance.   Just going to take the chance.   Beside I like going up hill.

Painted in Paradise today.  :)

I probably won't do a ride today 5 hours of going up and down a latter in the heat is enough.

Feeling really happy with May.   I will be betting my monthly distance record for April which was 474.1 miles.    As of right now I have gone 487.1 miles and there is still 5 days left, to do some more riding.  And who know I might change my mind and still do a bike ride today.  ?

50 miles and the Fun 50.

Well I figured something out. No matter how tight I make the magnet, it moves during the ride. :(   So no speedometer pictures this time. So I'll post the progression of  Bike Dr Mikes Poster.   Working on lettering and spacing.  Then next is adding more detail to the first sketch.
No I didn't fall off the bike. LOL But before the ride I caught my foot on the corner of the autaman  and did a hard fall on both my knees.  Ow~~~     It was a warm up fall.  ;)
So 17 miles then 23 miles on the ride it's self then an additional ride 10 miles to upper park and home.
Wow so many people were are the fun 50.   I counted 12 ahead and guessed about 15 behind , so about 27 people.  Talk about feeling the pull.   I have to say it was a hard ride, but it was a good ride.  This time everyone was very aware of surrounding riders, that was good.
Pulling a few riders behind you is ok, pulling 27ish riders behind you holy crap, now that a work out.   About  5 miles to the end, one of the cyclist was falling back, so me and two other riders fell back to help him along.      No matter how slow you go, if your still moving  toward your goal, your a winner in my book.

8 miles of laziness. ++++

Took it easy today.   Hubby beat me in miles to day he did 8 in the morning and 8 in the evening with me.   Top speed was 12.1.      Some days you ride your ass off and other days you don't.
Well I've reached my goal of doing 100 miles.    So time to make a new goal.    New goal is to ride 200 miles in one day.  :)   But not thought the park.   100 mile thought the park is really hard, especially the last two hills note, small hills, additional note, really small hills.  Well after 80 miles they become really difficult.
Here is my plane of action.  The Flat flower is 65 miles, if I do that three times with a additional 5 miles that is exactly 200 miles.   I already planed it all out and I can do it, but not right away.  I need to work getting up to 80  and feeling ok.   50 is fine, 60 felling it, but fine.  70 felling it, but still not dead.   Now 80...um yeah that when I state to break down and I have to really focus.    So going to practice on doing longer rides.      With doing longer ride  to me it's a must to take all the breaks and do everything right, so far I have not bonked or had any major cramping and to me that is a good thing.

When you reach a goal, you make a new one and when you reach that goal you make another.   And that after that you eat ice cream.  :)      No your goal is not to eat ice cream the whole time.  The goal is to ride you ass off then eat ice cream.

100 MILES Wild Cat La Bidwell park.

Yaaaa my second time doing 100 miles.    And it was so hot.  This was a hard ride.  And no I did not do it all at once.  I took breaks to let my self recover.  I'm not into killing my self.  I can not ride 100 all at once.   And I drank so much water, that was all I was focused on was water.  By the time I got up to horse shoe lake the water was hot, so getting to one mile was a treat to have cold water.  Yeah their is other fountains, but the water was very warm. Yuck.

Omg it was so crowed up at Horse Shoe lake, they must have dumps the fish in and it was
slammed with people and kids fishing.   The traffic was horrific.  But I managed my way around.
I tried a new route, the road that parallels the park and found it quite smooth and nice to ride.   But in the park their was more shade and it was cooler, so I only took that road to 1 mile twice.

It really weird seeing upper park and lower park be slammed with people to going completely dead and no people.   Although 1 mile stayed very busy.
Their was this on guy sitting on a chair playing a violin and every time I went by he gave me the strangest look.  LOL   I past him about 9 times.
You could say I was going in circles.

Did I get sun burned?  Yes.

I beat my time by 1 minute.  LOL   Last time for doing 100 miles was 7:16.
Average speed last time was 14.0  Now it's 14.1.
The two guys on bike were riding behind me and they wanted to know if my bike was motorized.    No.

The truth.  I have micro hamster's in mini wheels  installed through out the bike.   Super light and undetectable.  Makes me super fast.

Am I tried..........Hell yes.

The good & the bad.
My tookiss didn't hurt as bad this time.
At  92 miles my legs started to rebel.
Didn't have to use hot water to get my legs to stop feeling the burn.

To me it's all about focus.  The whole previous day I was siking my self up, even before I fell asleep.    So by the time I work up I was like
"DOING THIS NOW"
My goal is to do 100 miles every day.  Hell no!    Once a month.  That sound better.   I can do that.

Taking it easy tomorrow.

FROM THE HUMAN CYCLIST POST

Just had to share this.  This was a fun read.
https://humancyclist.wordpress.com/2016/03/20/seven-stages-cyclist/

Copy and paste.  ;)

30.4 miles

Good ride today, hot, but I had plenty of water and the majority of the ride was in the shade, except for the ride out to horse shoe lake.  Well I could not help my self I did 2 hill climbs and hell yeah I still have it.  I was really worried by not keeping up it would be a lot harder. Nope I went up with a breeze.  So whew!    That felt so good doing that.  I know I shouldn't because of my weight.  I check the spokes and they were just fine.     I love going up hill.   Down hill his boring. But that me.
The ride was really fun today.    Was riding a long and past a older couple on a tandem bike and well when I past them they were like Hrumph!  She not going to pass us.  So they were up for a race.  :D    I got up to 25mph and they could not pass me.  And what was even better is when we got to 1 mile the guy has a really good sense of humor.   He said to me. "How dare you make a us old folks peddle so hard." Then he laughed.    Really nice couple.   That was fun.

How do I know I'm winded, when I stop jabbering.  LOL   I tend to talk a lot and joke a
lot.  When I'm quite that when I'm focusing and losing my breath.   ;)

INTERESTING SIDE NOTE'(S)

Well having been to physical therapy for my legs and all that jazz.  What did I learn from that.  Good back posture and the right way to sit.   Good posture is akin to good cycling once you get into the grove you body know exactly what it needs to do.   I can not help but sitting with my knees out and my back straight, it's habit now.   And here's the interesting side note for my self.  My legs really dig, and when I cycle I find my self preforming better.    Good posture off the bike  = good ride.

Another thing I can't live with out and it may look a little odd when I do it.  I can't not help, but stretch on the bike.   Like standing up, squatting, leg stretches, and rotating my ankles.    In a pace line I'll only stand up, no no no and no leg stretches.   Have no desire to take out riders.   I've been riding for 3 years and stretching on the bike is were it is at for me.   And I have had no cramps or pulled muscles.    Numb fingers on my left arm, but that from holding the handles to tight.   My toes use to get numb, but I swapped the peddles out for bigger peddles and that solved that problem.

As for the clips.  Na  I like my paint splattered window painting shoes.  Designer. ;)    And I like to move my feet around.    The more I think about clips the more I like being right were I am.   Speaking of peddles though, mine are starting to fall apart.   Not bad, I looked down and their plastic piece hanging off, kind of comical, but not that noticeable.

32.94 ish MILES & the FUN 50.

Hell or high water I was like I'm doing the 50.   The last time my rod broke and I was really bummed out.   This time I was like if a rod breaks I'm cycling crossing it.  Running the 50 with my bike on my back.   Now that would be a sight.     My speedometer magnet keeps turning up wards and around it died at 22 miles.   So 23 miles of the 50 and 4.97 twice going and coming from home. That about 32.94 ish miles.  This is why I only posted the Average speed and Max speed.

The ride was great, but at the same time a little scary.  We were doing a double pace line and I was in front with the guy beside me and I thought we were turning, nope not turning, but letting the people behind us up front.  Thanks for the heads up.  So that was a bit scary, last thing I want to do is cause a crash.   So once I figured out the system I was fine.
And now for the drag.  Holy Fish net stocking Bat man.  To be in front with that many people behind you yeah I could feel the drag, big time.   It wears you out faster, real fast.  When I got in the middle again I was like ahhhhh, that feel good to behind some one.        At one point people were doing a double pace line on a very busy rode, that was kind of iffy.
My butt is getting use to the being on the bike nonstop, so that good.  But my left hand is taking all the brute force.  My pinky and ring finger are numb.   All around it was a great ride.

41.2 miles on a windy day.

Great ride today even on a windy day.   But it said the current wind was only 16 mph?   Really I was getting knocked around on the bike with pretty hard gust of wind.  And riding head on into the wind is not fun.   But all in all I feel great.   Finally!   Beside the wind the weather was nice and cool, I like.

And it's Pipevine Swallow tail season so lot's and lot's of caterpillars will be moving along the bike path.   If you can make a effort to avoid pot holes you can make a effort to avoid these guy's. I have to say it make riding more interesting.   But there are plenty of people who just don't give a rat's ass.  I see squished ones.

Here is what a Pipe Vine Swallow tail looks like as a butterfly.  Beautiful.

Windy, windy and very windy.  Like I said I can not believe just 16 mph wind.

 My legs are very happy.

Not going fast to day.
This time down hill just coasting.   So like I said no going fast.

BIKE POSTER FOR BIKE DR MIKE. :)

A awesome vintage bike poster that I am going to remaster and turn into the 50.   Took me a while to find one that had a good image. I'm really not use to drawing straight off the computer, but I can do it.    Dr Bike Mike has put up with a lot from me, we (Spoke) about it a lot.    He's kept me on the bike and riding and to me that make me happy.  So I want to make him happy.
Finally found a good picture that I can zoom in on and the detail does not go squiffy.    So got my board, pencil and here we go.

As for cycling yes my legs are going nuts, headache and feeling under the weather is all gone, so after I get all my other stuff out of the way going to hit the bike path.

Can I do it?   I don't know I think I can draw and paint.?

CYCLED ON THE MOON.

Sorry for the small photo, but I had a hell of a time trying to get this picture from NASA.  Yes I am the first person to ride my bike to the moon and back. And yes I am a alien, I don't need oxygen to breath, so either way I'm fine.     Just had to check out one of the abandon rovers too cool.  As for the ride leaving earth gravitation pull was really super hard, but once you break free it's smoothing sailing.   Cycling in 0 gravity is super fun, but my bike has special jet packs, to keep me on track.    So I bike 238,855 miles to the moon. Round trip was 477,710 miles.   I ended up staying a couple of day and taking a break.  Bleak, except for the rover.    What did I do for food?   I had a pack on my bike with enough.    Now as for the reentry back to earth, you could say ouch, Yes it get really hot. But like I said.   I'm a Alien, so no big deal.

Till next time.  ;)

FUNK!

I don't know what going on, I'm not sick.  But I have a headache, and my legs are dead to the world.  Their not making a peep, nothing nada.   Some times I can jump on the bike and I feel better afterwards, but this is not one of those times, because if my legs are not talking to me, their is something more to this.  I just got to ride it out  ..... ha no pun intended.   I really want to do a long ride again, but with my head on.    Hey look it's the park, WOW! never rode their before. Really going to have to check it out.  Yeah I'm being sarcastic.    Those last to little hills become my worst night mare after 75 miles.   But I did it before I can do it again.

As for Stravvvvvaaaaaa!
Well I've had several people say I need it.   Do I need it?   I don't think so. I'm old school.  Yes I have a phone.  Do I have it connected to the Web?  No.    How do I live?   Like I always have.   I have a speedometer and that enough technology for me.
I see so many people looking down at their phone in the park when there running or cycling or what not.   If your distracting your self from the ride at hand your not concentrating on being in the moment of the ride and pushing your self.    Hell I've seen bikes with phone on them.
Now don't get me wrong.   GPS & to call for help is not what I'm having a problem with.  Those features will help you get out of trouble.
But texting while your riding and stopping every 5 minutes to check your status and what not.  All that adds up to getting less of a ride in.     When I go around in circles thought the park, I will see joggers just walking with their faces glued to the screens.   If their jogging they must be jogging 5 minutes at a time.  Then I'll the see the serious running and hell there moving like the wind, no phone in hand and they all have that same face, determination nothing stopping them not even a ring from their phone.    I've only seen very few people running and running fast, it is really a sight to behold.  I saw this guy one time and I swear he made it look so easy he was running so easy it look like he was just floating by.    The majority of people will say oh I'm a runner, but in reality there jogging.   Ha

Another break day.  :(

28.2 Miles Second day of bleh.

Why hello there.   Stop to fix my speedometer and this big lizard was looking at us.   Beautiful.  But I think he might have eaten a huge meal, the guy did not want to move at all.   Yeah they bite and have sharp teeth so no touchy.  I scooted him off the bike path with a piece of bark.

To day was so so,  did only 28.2 miles and I guess was still not feeling to hot.   Usually after the 6 mile is when I start to feel real good.  But no not happening.   Oh well.

I thought it may be the 162 mg of baby aspirin I'm taking for the non-Deep Vein Blood clot. But no that's not it.  So it might just me.    What ever it is it will pass.

My cookie monster crossing Buckle Berry Ferry.
Lot's of people enjoying the park.
