Awesome ride today and I feel great, yeah my tush is very sore, but other wise I feel pumped and my legs feel fine.
40.5 miles added to 605 miles is 645.5 miles.
So I'm smoking.   And you better believe it I'm taking a break.
I've been riding 5 day straight with out a break.  That's 201.3 miles in 5 days.  And I can feel it.

SO HELL YA!  645.5 miles in one month.

605 MILES

Hell Yeah!   Feeling strong and sassy.
And my butte hurts, but guess what I'm doing the Friday Group ride tomorrow morning.
Tomorrow will be my 6th day straight of riding with out a break.
Ready to feel more burn.
605 miles in the month of September.

26.1  miles today.   Dang I got so excited I for got to post the speedometer picks.  There coming.

HISTORY OF ME & BIKES.

This is me in the 1990.  I'm 16 years old and I was convinced I was over weight.  I've never been stick skinny.  And can you believe here I am a size 8.

I grew up with frank in bikes, boys & girl bikes massed together.   I really don't remember being taught to ride a bike.  I just learned.   I grew up on the Oregon coast in the tiny town of Bandon or as I lovely call it Abandon.  The town had one signal light, a fudge factory, a functional cheese factory and lot's of storms.
When I was 6 and 7 I use to be able to ride on the road, which the cars were few and far in between.   Oh the joys of having a older brother who wanted to kill you all the time.  Every single dam time I try to ride my bike in peace, he would chase me and shove me off the bike. I've got the scars on my knees to prove it.  So yeah riding was not easy.   When I was 8 riding was also a problem, now we live even further out, the 10 miles out and we had no paved road and if I was going to ride it was around in circles.  So I just kind of lost interest.
Now flash forward to 1990 I'm 16 and my dad comes home with these green bikes.  I really have no idea what kind of bike they were, but they were heavy.   Riding with dad was fun, I don't think we when as far maybe 6 miles round trip.  But back then it didn't occur to me that I could go somewhere with this as in push my self.   I was in a sad state back then and really didn't think much of anything.
You think my brother being old would change our relationship..nope. I went on a ride with him and he rode out further then we've ever ridden then he ditch me.    I was like fuck.  I didn't know Chico back then at all, so it took me a good 4 hours of  guessing my way home.   For a while I rode my bike to school every day, that was fun.
I can only imagine in alternate reality where I could have gone with cycling if I had have supportive family.   But back then like I said I didn't think much of any thing. Just trying to survive home life and school every day was hard enough.
For a good 22 years I completely ignored bikes.
Then in the beginning of 2013 stopped at a stop light a guy rear ended our van and totaled it.  We were ok, just shaken up.   Now what?
Well at first we got some bikes from my step father who didn't want them any more,  Heavy bikes made out of lead.  Our first ride home with them I was so shaky and unsteady I was actually scared I would fall off before we got home.  We road those for a very short while.  I remember having to walk them over the over pass, riding a small hill back then was impossible.
Then we got the pay out for the van and we got to comfort Diamondback bikes and holy shit what a difference.   In the beginning we would go 1 to 2 miles around.  Then as we got better and had more stamina I got the mini cycling bug, I wanted to go further.  My first further was  was a whopping 2 miles and 4 miles round trip to  five mile.  That was the big out of breath heart beating ride.   Then we cross the bridge, then we rode to wild wood park and we just kept going further and further.   Eventually Paradise, Durham & Oroville all on comfort bikes.   We turned comfort bikes into road bikes.
As of now I own a actual Road bike my Baby.  A Airen 1 Diamondback Road bike.  And I love it. So that my story and I'm sticking to it.

72.4 Miles & Some Serious Pain Managment.

WOW as in WOW!   Really killed it today and it was a great day to suffer.
But considering I've been riding for four days straight with no breaks.  Oh my ouch.   Yes I can feel it in my legs and I'm so so sore.   Ouch~~~~  But I found several tricks to make the pain lessen and it worked.  Other wise I would have stopped.  Nope not giving this one away.  So in 4 days I racked up the miles 160.8 miles to be exact.    And I only have 21 miles left to get to 600 miles, with three days left.  YES!
I really did go that fast this time, so the ride took longer as you can see with my average speed.
Along the way I did two sprint.
The first one I did at 50 miles.  Yes I am a stinker and I could not help my self.   A skinny guy in a green shirt was coming up behind me and he was like I'll pass this fat ass and show her a thing or two.  His smirk is what got me started.  So yeah I dropped his ass, he did chase me and managed to get to Manzanita ave.  He when under on the bike path and I cross traffic so he got ahead of me.  Now here is were the mean part come in.  I tailed him at 23 miles an hour and he kept looking at his speedometer and looking stressed.
He stopped at the little hill and I went to Horse shoe lake.

Stopped for water at Hooker oak park and was treated to a raft of ground squirrels having fun.  There must have been about 9 of them.  So cute.

Got to 1 mile and I had to bleach my eyes.  There was a skinny guy wear a waist high zebra print spandex.  WHY!   And as I'm filling my water bottle as I look over and try to enjoy the pool, I can't help notice he's peeing on the tree.

So yeah.   Men bathrooms are open and he's water the tree.

Did another sprint at 65 miles and this one was fun.   I was crossing back over Manzanita and this guy on a mountain bike cross came around the corner and we both got on to Vaollumbrosa  at the same time.   So for two miles we both put the metal to the peddle.   26.4 miles an hour of flying fun.   He seemed really surprised.
That was a great way to end the ride after that time to go home and R&R.

So onward and forward.

12.1 MILE & CHALLENGE EXCEPTED

Did a small ride with hubby today, then started thinking about something someone said to me when I told them about doing 500 miles.    They said. "Why don't you do 600 miles?"    At the moment I was a little sore from the ride, but I was thinking about that all day long.   I just got to 507 miles and I feel fine, no really big problems that would keep me from doing it.   I'm not going to ride up Lassen, because on the 30th I'm working.  I four more days left in the month...so why not.
Challenge excepted!   So 600 miles here I come.     And I think I fixed my speedometer, well it's working, we will see tomorrow.

Omg coming down the road along side the park going toward 1 mile I came around the corner and the whole street was piled with large branches and a fricken huge pile of leave the cross over the entire road.  Holy shit.  I really did not like having to ride over a pile of large branches and other things.  I was like I'm going to get a flat!  Well I didn't get a flat.....whew.  But as the cars drove over you could hear thing snapping and breaking.   I don't know if those gardeners were trying to create a road block or what.

And another thing the leader of the WOW group suggested I need to wear a jersey that has the animal from the Muppet's on it.   She calls me a animal. LOL   I could not find a Jersey with him on it, but she totally wants me to get one.   Because apparently I'm a animal.  RRHHHHH!   Opp's   never mind that.

34.2 WOW to Paradise up Neal Rd.

Well my speedometer batteries just went kaput.  Some times I can switch them around and they work, nope.   So I had to track my ride today on google maps.   Road up to Neil the back way to Paradise.  Nice steady climb not too steep.   Yesterday after the ride I was like no hill climbing then I the ride out I learned where we were going.  So I just went with the flow.   So just 5 more mile to go and I'll be at 500 miles.   Other wise I feel fine.   I have four more days of riding so let see what happens.
Up date on Billie.  WOW what a lady she ended up riding 8 miles with a broken wrist and other injures.  She one tough chick.    Currently she on the road to recovery and can't wait to ride with her again.

Over and out. ;)

42.1 MILES & WOW REDDING RIDE SACRAMENTO RIVER TRAIL

Well I'm not fighting were it wants me to type this time.  So down this far is fine.
WOW!!!!!! This was such a awesome ride with awesome ladies.   Yeah and thats me miss reading the time.  Yup I got up a 5:00 this morning and was ready to rock.  And for a while I really thought I was left behind, so I went home and texted the group. :(   Well it turned out they had not forgotten about me.  Boy did I feel stupid.
Thank Becky Warren for organizing the trip and Besty Ingram for giving me a ride to the event.

The weather was 100% perfect for the ride and yes I saw turtles.
 Getting ready to roll.

Beautiful Sundial bridge in Redding.

Getting to our first rest stop.

9.8 miles to go.   Holy bear crap, their was a lot of just that on the trail.

  WOW practicing our gang signs.
Miranada is our gang leader.

How can you not like going thought a tunnel.
Resting and catching up with unexpected friends, before the climb to the Dam.
Contemplating figs.    Oh man the whole tree was loaded, but not one rip fig.   The tree was Huge.!!!

Got to do a selfie by the sign.

 Getting to the top.

 Hey look there is Shasta.

And a bat squeezed in the middle of the concrete slab.  It's the squishy thing in the middle.

R&R

This is the Friend Bench.

We had a really scary thing happen on the way back.   When climbing up the hill we had to go around a hair pin turn.  Going slow we all forgot how hair pin it was.  I went around it at 15 miles an hour and holy crap that is the closest to crashing I have ever come. The other girls made it and poor Billie did not, she did not crash but rather got stuck in the dry underbrush. :( :(    I was not there, but was waiting for them to come down the hill with half of the group. Two of the other women had to pull her out and she got jabbed on her arms and legs really bad.  So no that was not fun to see her come down all bloody and we still had 8 miles to ride. So yeah Billie a real trooper.   And Miranda was also bloody from a little spill, so there was a lot of blood.  :(      Thankfully after we all had some to nom on Becky took Billie to the hospital to get fixed up.

Bernhardt-Roth syndrome

Or Meralgia Paresthetica.

Well this is why I am feeling crappy. The pain really got bad so I went to Enloe and had it checked out with a Ultra sound and it turned out to be this. Bernhardt-Roth syndrome.
Which occurs in men more than it does women.
The causes?   Well the main one was my blood clot back in 2012, back then it made this really bad, in fact so bad I had to put a piping hot bladder on my thigh to get any relief, I did this routine for a full months and I was bed ridden for this full month too.   On the day it finally when away my hubby handing me the pipping hot water bladder on my thigh, I grabbed it and yelled at him for trying to burn me.   He then explained that for the whole month that is how hot it had to be for me to feel better.  I was like shit really.   Over the year after the clot and before we got the bikes it would act up hear and there, but nothing like that one month, or now.
I was thinking to my self earlier about what could have set it off.   Yes cycling is a culprit, I will not deny that. The only bike ride that made both my thighs sore was on 9/12/2017 to Cohasset. No burning sensation or stinging.   But another culprit is wearing too tight of cloths.  My Cycling shorts.  They are the right size for me, but they go right over the area I'm having problems with.   So In a week we'll find out, but that is my suspicion.   So for right not no bike riding until I find out if it the shorts, or what else it is.
And :(   This means possibly forgoing the Redding Sacramento River Trail Ride.   😭
I'm going to see how I feel the day before and if it's still giving me this much pain, it's a no go.

NOT A GOOD DAY.

Well today I was suppose to ride with the group to Forest Ranch market. Not happening.   My left thigh was burning and stinging yesterday really bad, so I took a easy ride to try to lessen the stinging pain, it worked.   Well today even sitting blogging I'm finding my self in a lot of pain on that side, it's back and it's really uncomfortable.  My other leg is fine, no pain and coupled with the fact I didn't sleep very well last night, yeah no ride to Forest Ranch.  It seem that the hotter weather lessened pain in the leg.  Because as soon as it cooled down my thigh was like Hey I'm back.   I had my major deep vein thrombosis in 2012, and come to think of it, this is the worst pain I ever had.   In general I feel fine, a little sore all over, because of 418.6 miles of riding.  So time to chill.  Even though I really wanted to ride with the group.  But with this leg pain I would have been (NVT) nuts. ;)

If I take a three day break I should be ok for the ride on the 25th.   So time to chill while my leg burns.

31 MILES & THE GOOGLE CAR

The weather is so nice and cool.  Took a easy 12 mile ride before hubby got home.    On my way to the park this weird looking car is coming toward me.  I'm like what the fuck is that?    Then it suddenly dawn on me it's the google car.   I got googled, by google.  LOL   So I should show up on google maps.  LMAO     I read that it can take awhile.  Right now on the same road there is another cyclist, but it's not me.   So I'm going to check, here and there.    It's not every day you find your self on google maps.  LOL

When hubby got home he was feeling like he wanted to take a longer ride out to the airport, so I did another ride to make it a total of 31 miles.    Hubby did about 17 miles.  :)   He decided he wanted to push him self today.

Well I'm past 400 miles.  To be exact I just reached 418.6.  😎

On the 30th there is a ride up Lassen National Park.  I really want to do it.   But it might be a little too expensive for me.  Well I've got 8 days to see what happens.
