2hours & 35 minutes in the GYM.

I have been working out at the gym and it seems that I'm not wearing my self out.  And in order to make progress one need to wear them self out.   So instead of doing three reps of every thing I did four reps.  And instead of staying for two hour I added another half hour.  Included in the 2hr and 35 min was the racquetball.  And I feel fine, no aches, nothing.

So yeah I was sitting on one of these a leg press and I was thinking to my self how far can I press, before I was keeping it safe. And I still did it 10 times each time I moved it up.  So I did 100lbs x 10ok... how about 200lbs... still ok...250lb...still good.   Apparently 270 is my max limit.   Now check this out I weigh 245 and my hubby weights 257.  So logically I could leg press my hubby.  LOL  I really don't think he would like that.

In good new I did miss the last Sundays North Rim Crush Ride, but there is another one coming up so yay!  :)

All this working out is really paying off, a couple week ago my back did hurt from a ride a bit, but it went away much quicker than it did before.   The weirdest thing so far is I can feel my ribs for the first time.  I'm like WTF are those, holy shit it's my ribs.  I lost touch with then for almost forever.

SAVED BY BROWN RICE

So yeah Oat meal, sucks.  I hate stuffing my self in the morning, before a long ride.  I don't eat big breakfast's so riding the bike to the meeting spot with a full stomach is not a nice feeling. I feel bloated. Yes of course once we getting going I'm fine.  I literately have to force feed my self and I'm getting really sick of it.  Why Oat meal?    So if your going insane like me and you need a break and need to fine another alternative to break the monotony.  Here is what I came up with.

You can make this the night before and you can eat it cold.  So this really saves time, because you don't have to heat it up.

So here is the Recipe.

1 cup cooked cold brown rice.

My hubby really like One table spoon of peanut butter and some brown sugar.

Time to get creative.  So here is what you can add.
Tablespoon of peanut butter.
 Raisins
Chopped fruit of any kind Bananas, figs, cherries, you name it.
 Honey
 Nuts of any kind
Or if you have a tasty idea try it out.

Yeah it might get boring after awhile too, but at least you can switch back and forth.   I've already tried it and I really like the switch.   And the plus side is it's also easy to digest and it almost mirrors oats in health benefits.    And it saves my sanity.  LOL

Here is a extra rice recipe included from my Susen's Kitchen Corner Blog site.  Brown rice cooks the same, with the exception that you use 2 cups of water and you should let it steam longer.

https://susenkitchencorner.blogspot.com/
Here is the link, yes I don't post as much as I use to, but I have lot's of easy recipes to scroll thought if you curious about how I eat. ;)

HOW TO COOKE RICE OR AROMATIC RICE:
If you just want to make regular white rice just don't add any extras, it's that simple. But if you do add away.  What I like to do after the aromatic rice is done cooking is add a little cheese to the top and add hot chili garlic sauce, mix it up and yummy.  And if you haven't noticed I like to be very exacting with my rice.

= means equal

1CONVERSION FOR RICE:  1 1/4 CUP = 288 KILO = 8 5/8 Oz = 245 GRAMS = 17 TABLESPOONS.

FOR WATER 32 TABLESPOONS IS EQUAL TO 1 3/4 CUPS

IF YOU CAN'T MAKE IT FAKE IT.

Well unbeknownst to the North Rim Group I was out there riding with them.  I was just so fast they could not see me.  That's right.

SMACKING THE FENCE

Well no I did not smack the fence like this guy is playing like.  Last night I just started feeling awful, headache, stomach just all around queezy.  Uhhhggg.  So I was like hmm it might go away in the morning.  Woke up and well the headache was gone, but the underlying icky feeling was still there.  So yeah getting on a bike and riding 50 miles...uh no.   I choose life.   So I missed the North Rim Training Crush ride, no  big deal.      Need to chill out today take it easy and finish the month off with the Halloween ride and call it good.  And big deal if I didn't make it to 500 miles.   So waiting for me to get back on track and go out for another ride. 😉

35.4 North Rim Training.

This quote is true and from my experience.   However when people to answer the call of nature it become can we pee yet? LOL  Or as I found out a lot of people on the rides are commando style, run out into the bushes or hide behind a tree.  I have yet to go commando style.

The ride started out pretty chilly this morning, but as always it warmed up.  Today was a short easy ride.  LOL  Well that is what John said and the average speed on my speedometer was 16.5.
Yeah I get I shouldn't have stayed up front so long.  Boy this ride was all over the more turns than you can shake a stick at.
There has been only two time when we did a sharp turn that I was like....ok were is the fricken road?  I closed my eyes and when with the flow.   That happened today, because the road was highly shaded and I had my sun glasses on.  So it look like John was leading us into nothingness.   Yikes!  But of course there is a road.    Another thing that was kind of scary on the ride today we were doing a double pace line on a smooth road.  Well I was on the inside toward the edge of the road.   And not blaming the person in front of me, but as I was going along the pace of the pack in front was ebbing and flowing and at one moment either it was hit the tire infront of me or scoot over to the edge of the road.....wait what edge?  Their is no room.  I hit the breaks, said FUCK! Freaked out the riders behind me, as I boogied along the edge of a steep gravel drop off.  I maintained my bike and flirted with almost crashing.  Yeah Big YIKES!

On this ride Steve Hass broke a chain.  It was decided that he was going to get a ride, so we all took off and when we all got to a stop sign low and behold Mr Amazing is riding in the far distance with a fixed chain.  I guessing he used his amazing lazer vision to melt the chain together. I guess we will never know.

Toward the end of the ride nearing Chico I was at the back of the group riding with a guy in a bright yellow shirt.  We were going along and all of a sudden he was not behind me anymore.  So I yelled to the group, and I turned around.   A flat can drop you like a rock, so I wanted to make sure that is not what happened.   It was not a flat, he was just really far back.   So I rode with him and well he got a head of me and turn so quickly over a really small bridge I didn't see him, so I went straight ahead, and out of the corner of my eye I saw a yellow flash.   Oh!   So I got back on track.

So tomorrow is the Crush ride. 47ish to 50ish miles. Because of were I live it will turn it into 50 miles.
So yeah.  Time to keep steady paced and put my nose to the grind stone, because this will be my third day of riding.     I'm hoping to do my version of this ride.  The Crush ride which includes going up Clark Rd and back down Neil Rd.   I call it The CRUSH'ED, because of the climb.

KEEPING TRACK & a Flat.

So far from May 2, 2016 to Now I have road a grand total of 5,426.38 miles.

I have put 3,997.05 of those miles on my Airen 1 Diamond Back.

From May 2, 2016 to May 2017 (One year) I have cycled 3,096.78 miles.  With each ride from June to know I have been subtracting day by day off this number.    As of now I have 767.18 miles left.  What took me a year had now taking me 6 months if I'm steady, if I'm not 7 months.   But either way I'm super happy.

So much for taking it easy because with tomorrows ride which is 28 and the next ride that is 50ish, I'll have road over 500 miles for October.

I total had a brain fat.  I had a flat today on the front tire.  So much easier to change.  I got help from a guy name Steve who changed faster than I could blink.   I felt like a idiot, I was given a small pump, reach around to grab it and it must have slip out at home, sure enough right by the door.  So I got my tired pumped up with nitrogen. The tire was super cold.   I've got some debts to pay off.

A Halloween ride is coming up and I got a simple and easy costume planned out.   No I'm not going to tell you.   You have to wait.  But I can give you a hint.  FOIL.

45.7 Miles FRIDAY GROUP RIDE

 44.4 + 1.3 = 45.7 miles.   I'm not home yet.
So great ride with the Friday Group.   Not feeling the best I could, but I kept going.    Tomorrow were doing around 35 miles and then Sunday were doing 47 miles, which for me will be 50 ish miles or over depending how I'm feeling.

JUST IF YOUR CURIOUS

If you wondering what my shirt says.  Because you can just see the normal part.  This is from American Horror Story.   I don't watch TV so I didn't even know it was a show.  I just like what it says.   It make sense for me and my background.  But however I did grow up in a haunted house.   Were you could unplug all the light and they would still be on and all the doors would unlock them selves on their own.  That isn't the half of it.  Bwwhaaaaa!

15.1 Miles North Rim Training & FUNK!

Dang!  It went from 61.7 mile if awesomeness to a nose dive of crap.   No I'm not sick, it other stuff that happens in life crap.  I'm holding on to the ore's, but I have no boat or water.  Yay!
So I've been off the bike thee day, yeah I know terrible.  I did manage to hit the gym and battle out the crazies that way for a hour and fling my self around on the racquet court for another hours on the 23.  So that helped.
Check this out.  2 hour work outs are not really doing it for me.....😐  I was talking to my hubby and he thinks I should at least try to wear my self out, so I'm going to step it up next time instead of doing three reps, I'm going to do four of each
core exercise.  So yeah  And I'm being serious.    I'm getting really weird looks at the gym, kind like the one I get when I ride.  WTF?   No of course I'm not going to go over board and hurt my self.
Well like I was saying today was Bleh mode, I joined the group to do hill training, just to get out there and at least do something, I was not sick, but you know how you get when someone sucks the life out of you and then spits you out and smashes you to the ground.   I guess I was the bug.  But not a good enough excuse not to ride.
If I can still up right I can ride.
So I slogged around the loop a few time and on the third time snap.  Rolling eyes.  At least I can say I road somewhere.   Going to get some help from John Wiesinger from North Rim, Thank you.   I also got some more gifts riders. THANKS.  A tiny pump and a back break light.  This helps a lot.
So yeah I had to go home after the break.  :(

But you know what I been thinking about. Clark Road.  When we did the ride Saturday we only did 47 miles.   Hass joked about going up Clark road.   Well why not, it's only 7 miles up hill.  I know I could do it and I could have done it that day.   So I guess I have to wait.

So on with the show.  7 more days of riding and no big deal with what the mileage is.

Oh yeah I'm still losing weight little by little.

CLOSE TO THE SEASON!

It's getting close to the time of season, were I go up and down on the ladder.  Even before I cycled I was secretly training for riding.  If you want to get stronger leg's, climb up and down a ladder for 5 to 6 hours at a time a day and sometimes even longer if I have more than one place to work.  One time I painted for 9 hour and the longest was 11 hours.   So that's one hell of a work out.  And mind you I did that when I was 325 pounds.  I might have been (FAT), well what funny is considering I lost all that weight I'm still considered fat.  I found out I have a mesomorphic body type.  Yes I  like looking into things.
From Google:   Mesomorphs could be thought of as the “genetically gifted”. They are characterized by an athletic, strong, compact and naturally lean body. They have excellent posture. Often, their shoulders are wider than their hips and women tend to have an hourglass figure.

Well back to the window painting.  I'm excited to be back into $$$$, but at the same time this is really going to mess with my riding?  Maybe, I really don't know.  I guess I just have to play it by ear and see what happens.  From November to December it can get really wild with window.  So for me just more training. LOL

I was 325 pound and for 1 hour of climbing a ladder I burned 637 calories.  WOW I did not know this.    So dang for a 6 hour job I burned a whopping 3,822 calories.

Ahhh but check this out since I'm 245 pounds I'll only lose 3,144 calories. But still.

for someone who was 325 pound I could really move around.

PICTURES FROM NORTH RIM TRAINING

Well here I am out and about with the a gang of cyclist running a muck.  Well no not really.
It was really a fun ride.  The only problem I really had is the small hills, I felt like a fly hitting a windshield....SMACK, but once I got over them I was fine.  I kind of yo yo the group.  I really thought going from Butte College to Chico those hills were going to kill me, I had no problem with them.  As for the freeway pass I gunned it up there.  Burn baby burn.
This was the first regroup stop, were we seen the Space invading tractors.

Here we are being trained on the fine art of the echelon, by John Wiesinger.  Word to the wise, he does bite.   I suggested an idea and he growled at me.
Wow see all the black hills that were the fire burned everything.  :(     This is about 5 of us on the overpass waiting for the rest of the group to catch up.
 Looking back toward Chico.
Taking a much break at Clear Creak Gas Station.  I only had one cliff bar on the whole ride.   When we got to the store I was quite surprised to see some people drinking soda pop and eating candy bars and even a bag of potato chips.
Me munching on the last of my cliff bar.
Felt really good after coffee could not resist riding up to Horse Shoe lake, have not been up their in a while.   I was feeling pumped.

What a great way to end the day with ice coffee in my water bottle.   Ahhhhh Life is good.  LOL

OH!

OH I need to type some stuff.

Well OH!  I just realized I didn't just do 3 days of cycling I did 4 days of cycling.
67.1 Today. North Rim
35.7 miles yesterday Friday ride
1 hour of Spinning at NS Fitness.
16 miles with North Rim.

113.4 miles in four days with a great finish.   Hell yeah!

61.7 AND FEELING GREAT! NORTH RIM TRAINNING!

Amazing day today.  I pushed my self hard  and was in a cycling high. The endorphins were really making me feel really good.  So yeah 61.7 miles.    I had to stop my self today, I really need to rest and relax, so no riding tomorrow.

Headed out with the North Rim Training group to do a 47 miles ride and the weather was beyond perfect.  I would have lot's of pictures of the ride, but I forgot my cord to up load it, so I'll post them when I can.   We practiced more rotating pace line and riding in a echelon which is easier said than done. (see below).
Getting to our first rest stop we were out on a country road and all of a sudden it look like war of the worlds.  These two huge farm truck started coming toward us. WOW!  Talk about feeling small.   The picture does not do it's size justice.

Got a lot a really great sprint's in today.

Then for the icing on the cake we had coffee afterwards.  mmmmmmmm  Thanks for the coffee John Wiesinger ;) .   At that point I was at 52 miles, from there did some more riding.

35.7 Miles with a side of no climbing.

Well I had planned to ride up Cohasset.  Got started off with the group and passed Keefer road, put the chain into the lowest gear and start climb and then I heard the harp noise, then I learned that my derailleur was rubbing the spokes, not good.  I fiddled around with it to see what low gears would work on a climb with it out making that sound.  The third gear from the easiest did not make that sound, but I was not even going 5mph, I was going 2mph, so yeah I can walk faster than that.   I did not feel like risking my derailleur rubbing on the spokes all the way and damaging them and going up choasset at 2 mph was out of the question.  So I turn back and decided to ride down Keefer Road and back, then home.   So I still got a good ride in, even though I did not get to climb.
When I headed back to Chico the group coming back down from Cohasset was not very far behind me.   So by the time I got to 1 mile, they were just turning the corner in less than 5 minutes.    One of the guys ask me "How do you keep hamming it out day after day?"
Well when I was 12 in 1986 I was in Germany when Chernobyl happen, the fall out mutated my DNA....get were I'm going with this.  LOL    Not joking about getting some radiation, I actually did.

So guess what tomorrow is.  North Rim Training. :)   Were riding 47 miles tomorrow and by the time I get home it will be 51 miles. I'm not doing any climbing so I should be fine with every thing.  So bring it on!
