14.8 MILES SERVED WITH INSANITY.

Like I said before I have never have gone so fast going so slow.   My speedometer was making me look like a super star.  My max speed today was 30 mph and my average speed was 19.8 miles.   Yeahhhh.   Heck Chris road with me and dang he was keeping up with my high speeds.  LOL

I zoomed over to Sports LTD as high speeds and Frankie was able to slow me down to much more normal speeds.    Thank you.   Because dang I should have entered the Chico Stage Races.  LOL

Today was not my day.  14.8 miles is better than nothing and I'll end Month doing. 351.6 miles.  Whoo hoo!    But wait it didn't happen.  DANG!  Oh well.

1HR 10M at the GYM & RAMBLING

Didn't do a bike ride today!     OMG it's the end of the world.he he
Took a break from riding and hit the gym for a hour.
No I didn't do battle with the Jacobs ladder.  I just did some racquet ball and some core work out.

As for the Wager, I need to do that on my own time when I'm ready to do it, but doing 32 miles a days not going to cut it for me.   I did 800 miles in February and that 28 miles a day.  But I did 110, then 70 and well I was all over the place, it work for me and that's the way I'm going to do the wager.
Not doing something does not make you a failure, it give you time to analyze and ready your mind for what to come.   Using your imagination is what helps you to do hard things.  It's all mind games. And mind games can be won.

When I started cycling I read in a journal that 65 miles was the drop off point for most cyclist, it literally said 65 is were people drop off like files.  That really stuck with me.  I didn't want to be a fly that hits the windshield.
And so far I have not hit the wind shield, yeah I tumbled here and there ha ha.

On Running...... (Jog).    I've seen runners and they fly by like the wind.  Me no!  I use to jog and yeah it felt really good. The furthest I could go was 2.4 miles   But it's just so hard on the knees and it aggravates my nerve entrapment in both my legs.  So I had to stop.  Yeah you burn more calories faster, but at what price.  Cycling is were it's at.  For me anyway.

19.4 MILES, 1 HR 10 M WORK OUT & WTF LOL

I need to reset my speedometer.   Because I never in my life have gone so fast going so slow.  My average speed was 65 mph.  Ahhhh LOL
I rode 29 miles in 1 hour and 29 minutes.   So yeah.

I Decided to go actually do a work out, dang I've been bad and double dang I'm paying for it.  My lower back really hurt on the ride.

On the way out I think I past at least 35 cyclist from the North Rim Wild Flower Training Group?   I'm not sure, but I seen people who are part of that group.

So what did I do at the Gym?  I hit the Jacobs ladder for 10 minutes.  In intervals, Holy shit I chose life.  Not doing 10 minutes at once.  I also did some Racquet ball, which I didn't realize how much I miss that.  :(

While I was slogging at the gym I started to do some thinking and I realized my problem.  Well working in March didn't help, but I'm getting distracted by other things and it's throwing me off, because I'm not moving forward, I've been stuck in a rut.  Doing the Wager is fun and exciting to do, but it's making lose track of what I was doing before that kept me making progress.

So I need to find that rhythm again between the gym and riding.  And put of the wager until I feel ready for it.  Putting something off for a later and get back to my focus.

FOCUS DAMMIT!    And FIX MY SPEEDOMETER.

Susen Hille,
Thank you for volunteering at  The 2018 Chico Stage Race! With your help, the event was a big success. We could not make it happen without you, and so we want to show our appreciation with a party just for you! So mark your calendar for Monday, April 23, and plan to come join us at Madison Bear Garden. We'll be showing our appreciation with dinner, soft drinks (no-host beer), prizes, goodie bags and more, from 6-8pm in the back garden (or upstairs if the weather is wet)! We have some great schwag so don't miss out!

34.7 Miles & SUN DOGS

Great day for a ride today.   The pull I did yesterday is barely there.  I didn't do any hard climbing though.    I decided to ride down a bike path I had never been on.  And I'm so glad I did.  It was kind of bumpy, but well worth it.    My gosh there was so many cyclist and mountain bikers out in droves and not to mention runners.  I didn't feel alone.   During the beginning of the month and middle I would see riders far and few in between.   It was a awesome day today.

And guess what I could not install my speedometer just yet.  I forgot my wire cutters were in the car.  Ahhhhggggg!  I was going to use a knife, but held off, cutting into my bike is not what I want to do.

Hey I made it to 317.8 miles.   Amazing for this month.  lol

This is now by far my favorite spot.  It totally reminds me of being in the woods.  Even thought it's not the woods.  It's as close as I am going to get.

 Wild Babies Breath.  Squeeeeeee
Uhhhhh no squee here. :(    Poison Oak.
Leave of three let them be.
Did you know that there is a soap plant that grow right next to poison oak.   It's a pain the arse to find, but if you pull it up by the root and smear it on the spot you got your self, it neutralizes the poison oak.
 Fern I love fern.
Uh oh I remember this place.   The dreaded Golf course.
 Yep.
Chris and I road our bike (on the road) to the restaurant because it said in big bold letters public welcomed, we wanted to look at the menu.   Again we were on the road and not riding in the golf course.
A guy comes out of the building with the expression of doom on his face, this was not a happy guy.  We didn't know what his problem was, but before I could get a word in edge wise about were the restaurant doors were, this guy literally chased us off the premises, I am not joking or making this up.  He basically told us to fuck off and get off his property.  WOW!
This guy was out for blood.  And all we wanted to do was look at the menu.    So what do you do when your treated like crap, we ended up going to 5th Street Steak House.  And have been going there ever sense.   We ask to see there menu, they let us look and that's that.
As I road across the bridge and was expecting the guy to show up again.  LOL

 Deer.  :)
Lot's of runners, lot's and lot's of runners.

There was this guy out side of his home playing with a blow gun.   The one were you use your breath to make a little needle projectile fly to it's target.    The natives who use them have more developed lungs for shooting them.  I wonder if this guy could even make it stick in the target, let alone it the target.
 Going back around.

SUN DOG'S    Look smack dab in the middle there is one on top and one on the bottom.   I have never seance a double stacked sun dog.   Usually it's just one.  So this was pretty cool.      Sun dog's work like this.

 sun dog                     sun                      sun dog.

It means there is a lot of ice crystals in the air.  The sun's light is refracting through the ice crystals, so cool.  Do you see the observatory below.   Those are some big Dogs.  :)

Going home.   This is at the entrance of Chico canyon rd.

500 POST

Feeling sore and happy.   500 blogs sense I started this site.
Hopefully April will be better.
Don't ask why the 400 post came up.  I'm still scratching my head on that one.
So no one came out to celebrate my 500 boo hoo hoo.  LOL

400 POST

Below are pictures from my more memorable rides.  If you can't see were I am in each picture, I assure you I am.

Ahh this was a awesome ride, who knew that only cyclist had the power to part the sea.  It was kind of muddy, the fishing was great, the mud tasted salty.  But it was some great memories.  This was only 2500 miles.
This one to.  At one point the mountain exploded and holy shit we had to ride our ass off, lava and hot steam right on our ass.  We eventually were able to veer off and get out of it's path, but talk about heart pounding.  It was a great 1700 miles ride.

What? You don't believe me.

23.2 MILES & KICKING MY ASS A LITTLE TO HARD!

Well dang you know what I said about kick you own ass.  I kind of over did it and pulled a muscle in my chest area.  What did I do?   I hit the mini hill of terror pretty dang hard. I stood up the entire way and hammered it.  Then did it three more times sitting down.     Not exactly too smart of a thing to do, considering I been off the bike.   The rest of the ride was not as intense and pretty me-de-oaker, I didn't go gun ho or do any sprints.   But I did a ass whooping on the road.
Ouch~.
And my right foot was going numb, that because of climbing the step stool, and my right elbow is so sore.  I'm not doing a death grip on the handle bars and I baby that arm, no avail.  My left elbow never hurts.  Go figure.

283.1 Miles for March.  It's better than no miles.  I'll take it.   I'm hoping April is better, but considering I talking to 5 customers for business over the next three weeks it might be bumpy.

 Tiny, but deadly.

 NEW SPEEDOMETER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Yaaaaaaaa
Walking into Sports LTD, and walked out with this. Happy.  Now I can tell how far I've gone and how fast.   My old one is D.O.A.

 Tiny Speedometer.

Ever wonder what to do with that sticker from your speedometer?  Stick it to the face of your computer to remind your self that 15mph is heck of slow and that you can go a lot faster.  :D

YES! We ate pizza and it was everything I hope it would be.   On the way to the freeway enterence a group of cyclist with lights crossed at the wrong time across the street parallel to  S&S market.  That really unnerving and scary.  Because they were not crossing safely.   They all had lights and I saw about 5 of them, there might have been more??  They also might have been a gaggle of teenagers.  It was pitch black and all I could see was the lights and silhouettes.

Cycling whats that?

Did I mention my legs hate me.   Work is good, don't get me wrong.  But I miss cycling.
This week has been nothing but driving and playing touch tag with the rain.  Two window don't have cover, so if it rains paint does not stick.     On 22nd I had to stop painting because some clouds came over and holy crap it was coming down like crazy hard. Big huge drops and cold.  My bucket was a quarter full of water, when the shower was over my bucket run over.  So yeah no painting, the clouds behind it were to dark and foreboding.   I was inside watching it and thinking to my self if I had got stuck out in that, that would have been the pits.  Getting drenched would have been a understatement.  With it coming down that crazily I would have gone for cover.   I've seen it go from crazy hard rain to crazy big hail.   That terrifying and to be on a bike with big hail is terrifying.   I can do small hail.   If it got any bigger I would hid under the cement pick-nick tables or a car, if I can get to on.  The worst hail storm I've seen in Chico was October 10th the sky was a strange Orangeish and pink color and toward the horizon was a huge dark cloud going in a circle.   I was on driving toward sky way with our old van crossing 99 and all of a sudden literally all hell broke lose.   It stated hailing like crazy and it was piling up like snow.  It was hailing so hard that I could not hear my radio anymore.  It sounded like a freight train.  If fact all the cars that stopped and were parked waiting for it to stop.   I was like Fuck this shit I'm going home.
And I was the only car moving and I got home.  Now for getting out of the car and making it through the door that was scary as shit.   Yes I screamed and I scared the crap out my poor cat.  Because Fiona waits for me by the door like a dog.  Poor kitty.

So yeah a little bit of hail ok,  shit loads of hail not ok.   Lesson learned.
I was going to do a bike ride, but yet again Maryville/ Yuba city is calling me.   So maybe when I get back.
Yesterday we drove to the Sutter Buttes.
A small pond with lot's of turtles, I'd say over 100 and I'm not joking.

This picture below if you look to the right.

Stopped by the Sutter Cemetery to say hi to Grampa Heraty and refresh both of the graves flowers.

COFFEE "I OWN YOU"

I guess I fell off the wagon.   I been comparing pictures of my self and yes I'm not going to say I haven't gain weight, I've gained weight!   It's my own fault, when I get stressed out it hit the coffee.
Another thing is I kind of been slacking on the gym. February I was on fire with the cycling and kept putting the gym off to ride.   March  (......)  March? .....ha ha ha ha.  March sucks for riding.  But big deal, I had work, work is good.  But I do miss the riding when I'm 5 inches painting away in front of glass.

Some of my work in Marysville.

Coffee is my down fall. :(   And were not talking about straight black coffee.   It's a vicious cycle.  I have been good for month on end with drinking ice coffee, then fall head first and fall right back into my old habit.
I can logic the fuck out of why I should not drink it and all that jazz, but when it come right down to it I really can't control it.
Move on, that's all I can do.
But considering I can still move like lightning, don't mess with the fat chick on the bike.  She'll Chick you, except for at the Chico Stage Races.  LOL

11.5 MILES

11.5 Miles is better than no riding.   Road with hubby this evening.  I've been busy all this week and riding is difficult when your about 45 miles away from your bike and getting home late.  And the fun's not over leaving early again and headed back to Maryville/Yuba City.
When I'm working I will see a cyclist go by this way or that way and think that should be me.
Marysville should be renamed city of the little kids bikes. At least 10 adults will be riding past me and around me as I paint.  I only seen two kids actually riding kids bikes.
 The river is high.

Hubby leaving me in the dust.

Headed home.
